Work can't be this fun, can it?
Okay, so next week is the first Staff Leaders' Conference (SLC) in a real long time and I'm really looking forward to it. You might think I'm a little crazy given that I'm on staff at United Way of America and I should be fretting about making sure that 80 copies of handouts get shipped to Pittsburgh safely, that the AV for our session works, that I keep on top of all the e-mail and voice mail messages that will accumulate while I'm away. But no, I'm really not all that worried about that stuff. Here's what I'm looking forward to next week in Pittsburgh:
- Working with Jacinda from the Twin Cities and Marissa and Tai from Miami on "The ABCs of Engaging Gens X and Y" (Thursday, May 17, from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Room 412).
- Congratulating Mike Brooks in person for his new role as Manager of United Way U. Just in case you're not familiar with it, United Way U is a way of engaging collegians in United Way's work. Mike's hosting an ancillary session on Tuesday, May 15, from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., in Room 410, so come by and welcome him to United Way.
- Meeting other United Way young leaders at the Young Leaders Happy Hour on Thursday, May 17, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at August Henry's City Saloon.
See you in Pittsburgh!
