Summer with UWA

Hey guys!

I hope that in these months that have past since our time in Lake Charles, everyone has enjoyed being home and maybe even passed the volunteering bug along to some friends. Personally, it feels like ASB was forever ago. Since then I have graduated, driven from NM to the Grand Canyon, to CA and back again, and finally moved to Arlington, VA to start my summer as an intern at the United Way of America. Today is my second day and I'm loving it so far (although the business attire just isn't as fun to wear as a tool belt). I hope that you too can take your experiences with the United Way further. I did Storm Corps in 2006, and was a team leader in 2007, and without those chances to work with the United Way, I wouldn't be where I am now. This office is awesome, and I get to work right next to Brian Pham :) Although it's too late for this summer, I really hope that you guys think about this opportunity for next year. It's a really simple application process and it can really open doors for your future, even when you're still in school, and honestly, who wouldn't want to spend the summer in Washington, DC?

So, anyway, I should get back to my real jobs at hand, but I just wanted to share with you all just how far the experience of spring break can go. It didn't end when we rode in the white vans back to the airport and it won't end when I finish my internship. That week in the Gulf has given us access to so many opportunities and you should take advantage of all of them. I hope that you guys have continued to do good well and that you always will!
I miss you all (Esp the Bears!)
