Lights, Camera, Action

Yo! Today, again, was a very good day. Actually it was even better because we started our community projects. We went to Vista Maria and Wendy introduced us to their programs there and we learned what Vista Maria was all about. Then they showed us the boiler room that needed to be painted. At first the team wondered why they would pick the boiler room as the first place they wanted us to paint. It seemed like there had to be a more important building to paint but we came to find out that the building would not have passed its inspection in its current state. The staff has had it on their list of things to do, but they have not had time to do it because of their normal duties. So by us scraping the old paint and then painting, we saved them from failing their inspection. After that, we went to the Southeastern Michigan branch office of the United Way and we were introduced to their 211 program. They allowed us to listen in on some of their calls. Then we went to the YWCA and had a little taste of Detroit, as well as get introduced to some more employees of the United Way. (I wish we could have climbed the rock wall there!)Later we shall be playing some basketball in the fieldhouse...Cardi DeMonaco JrDelta Sigma PhiStudent Government Senator
