Alternative Spring Break

So, today was really really eventful and fun. We were at Lighthouse Path painting the hallway of the women and children's shelter, which was great because we were covering up this dingy white/blue (DREARY) paint with this gorgeous eggshell/very warm color that just lit up the room with positive energy. We learned so much about our team and although wach of us comes from different backgrounds, it was uncanny how much we had in common in terms of interest and perspectives. At the end of the day we almost finished the hallway, but we were running late, so we had to leave with just a bit left. Unfortunately, even this short lag ended up dooming us to a horrible traffic jam, and what should have taken us 40 minutes took two hours. However, my co-team leader (Ashley) and I had some great fun being out-of-staters, trying in vain to get used to Michigan u-turns and missing street signs. We got to the dinner late, but just in time to hear some great words from Adam Harris and the rest of the team leaders and eat some wonderful dinner at YMCA.Alltogether a wonderful day.
