And now a word from our sponsors...
One thing that struck me today as I was standing in the snow, looking over the pile of scrap wood left over from cutting 2x6s- these people are obviously different. Spring Break is generally the peak of self involvement - a week spent making poor decisions, sleeping in, drinking things out of cups with umbrellas, and celebrating the fact that you've done something well enough to have earned your week with sandy beaches and clear skies. We woke up at 6am. We're lifting heavy things. We're in 30 degree weather and I haven't seen the sun in weeks. We have new fun scars and scrapes to share with each other. We're making a difference in a community.I want to take a minute to say thank you to all the people out there that decided to do something better with their week and to make a difference. You are obviously a different breed of person to do something like this. Many people do this to change their lives - but your lives are already different by signing up.
